Blockchain is a type of digital record-keeping system that stores information securely across many computers at once. Instead of relying on one central place, blockchain spreads its records over a network, making it secure, open, and hard to tamper with.

Each time a transaction happens, it’s added as a new “block” that connects to previous blocks, creating a chain—hence, the name “blockchain.”

Think of blockchain as a digital ledger that anyone can check. Each transaction is recorded in a “block,” and these blocks link together to form a secure, unchangeable chain of records.
