Is This the Worst Zoom Fail Of All Time?

We’ve all had those awkward Zoom moments—maybe your cat walked across the keyboard, or you accidentally left yourself on mute. But one Michigan man took Zoom mishaps to a whole new level.

In May 2024, Corey Harris logged into his Zoom court hearing for driving on a suspended license. But where was he calling from? You guessed it—his car.

The best (worst?) part? He wasn’t even legally allowed to drive in the first place!

The judge could barely contain his shock, and after confirming Harris had never had a valid license, ordered him to jail—talk about adding insult to injury.

The judge’s reaction was priceless (and probably deserved). With a straight face, he ordered Harris to turn himself in to jail after the call.

It’s one of those moments that perfectly captures how tech can work against you if you’re not careful. We’ve all come to rely on Zoom for convenience, but calling into court while actively doing the thing you’re not supposed to do?

Not smart!

Tech Tip: Always ensure you’re using tech in a responsible setting. If you’re in a situation where your surroundings matter—like, say, a court hearing—double-check that you’re not breaking any rules (or laws!) in the process.

Also, keep your camera off when privacy is important, and only multitask in situations where it’s appropriate!

And a general tip: It’s always smart to check your camera and microphone settings before logging in!

Now sit back for a moment and have a laugh over poor Corey Harris’ really awful Zoom meeting.
