One is real. I know this because I took it myself. The photo of these rowers was taken around sunset while standing on a bridge over the Charles River near the Harvard University Boat House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other 3 images are AI-generated. I created them using Ideogram.ai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few clues that give away the AI images:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The wake in the water is on the wrong side of the boat in most of the AI images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In image #1, the rowers are facing each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In image #2, there are no eddies or ripples in the water from the oars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The biggest giveaway in Image #3 is the wake in the water.<\/strong>
The rowers have their backs to the “camera” and, in rowing, athletes face backwards<\/em> while rowing. That means the boat would be moving toward<\/em> the “camera.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But here\u2019s the problem: the wake (the trail of disturbed water the boat leaves behind) is in front<\/em> of the boat. That\u2019s backwards! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wake should be behind<\/em> the boat, not in front of it. It\u2019s a big mistake that reveals the image was AI-generated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
