How I’m Using It

Here are 2 situations where I used Scamio recently.

Test #1

The first was a suspicious email that popped up in my Inbox. I copied the text of the email and pasted it into Scamio’s web interface.

After a minute or so, it came back with the following response:

I was pretty sure this email was bogus, but wanted to see how Scamio responded. As you can see, it definitely agreed with my assessment!

Test #2

The second was a suspicious link that was included in another email I received. Being VERY careful not to click on the link, I copied it and pasted it into Scamio.

How Does Scamio Work?

There are three simple ways to use Scamio:

Text Check: Copy and paste the suspicious text into Scamio or describe the threat you want it to review, just like you’re chatting with a friend.
Image Check: Have a suspicious QR code or screenshot? Paste the image into Scamio, and it will scan and read it for you.
Link Check: Got a dodgy link you’re not sure if you should click on or not? Even if it’s shortened, paste it into Scamio, and it will tell you if it’s safe. (Be VERY careful to copy the link and not accidentally click on it!!)

While Scamio is free, you will need to set up a Bitdefender account (it only takes a few minutes).

Once you’re set-up, you can chat with Scamio through your web browser or even on Facebook Messenger. It’s that simple!
