RAM (random access memory)

RAM, or Random Access Memory, is a vital component in computers and electronic devices that provides temporary storage for data and program instructions. Unlike the hard driveA hard drive is a part of your computer that stores all your files and data, like documents, photos,..., which stores data permanently, RAM stores data temporarily while the device is powered on. This allows the system to access and manipulate data quickly, resulting in faster performance and smoother multitasking.

Imagine RAM as a workbench in a workshop. It’s where the computer places all the tools and materials it needs for immediate use. The more spacious the workbench (or RAM capacity), the more tasks the computer can handle simultaneously without having to constantly fetch data from slower storage devices.
