It’s 2020, the world is at the height of the COVID lockdowns, and my sink decides it’s the perfect time to stage a revolt.

There I am, staring at a faucet that’s more troublesome than a toddler on a sugar high, wondering if I should just give up and start washing dishes in the toilet.

What to do? I don’t want to have a plumber in the house but I’m about as handy as a fork in a soup kitchen.

Then, like a plumbing fairy godmother, YouTube swooped in to save the day.

With nothing but my tablet and a desperate need for running water, I dove into the world of DIY plumbing videos.
