AI Slop

AI slop is low-quality content… images, articles, videos, comments… churned out by artificial intelligence in huge quantities and dumped onto the internet. It’s the digital equivalent of junk mail, except junk mail at least required a human to lick the envelope.

You’ve probably seen it. The Facebook photo of a “handmade” log cabin with a window floating where no window should be. The “heartwarming” veteran-and-his-dog story that reads like it was written by a toaster. None of it was made by a person. It’s generated in seconds, by the thousands, mostly to grab your clicks and attention.

Why should I care?

The same effortless tools that crank out fake cabins also crank out fake reviews, fake charities, and fake news designed to fool you. If something feels mass-produced and hollow, trust that hunch. It usually is.
