Upload

Upload means sending a file from your device to somewhere on the internet. When you attach a photo to an email, post a picture on Facebook, or save a document to Google Drive, you’re uploading.

Think of it like mailing a letter. You’re taking something you have here and sending it out there. The bigger the file, the longer it takes… just like a heavier package takes more effort to ship.

Why should I care? You probably upload more often than you realize. Any time you share a photo with family, back up files to the cloud, or add a profile picture to an account, that’s an upload. The opposite is downloading, which means pulling something from the internet onto your device.
